The Bergkelder hosts the memorable Fleur du Cap Wine and Salt Dinners, presented by salt aficionado, Chef Craig Cormack. Chef Cormack creates a distinctive four-course menu, all seasoned with the finest quality, natural artisanal salts and paired to complement the elegant range of Fleur du Cap Unfiltered wines.

Dinners cost R425 per person + 10% gratuity and start at 18h30 for 19h00.

Daily Fleur Du Cap Wine and Salt Pairings

Discover a unique new Fleur du Cap wine tasting experience, pairing wines with artisanal, salted delicacies offered daily at Die Bergkelder where handmade morsels meld seamlessly with hands-off, naturally crafted wines. With close affinity to their natural surroundings, Fleur du Cap wines lend themselves perfectly to pairings with nature’s gifts of unrefined salts. Using locally sourced savory treats, prepared using traditional methods such as curing with salt, the new Fleur du Cap tasting experience accentuates the inherent flavours of each superbly balanced wine. Served on salt blocks, the daily savory parings on offer at Die Bergkelder include five Fleur du Cap wines.

The Fleur du Cap Wine and Salt tastings are offered daily at R95 per person from Mondays to Saturdays between 09h00 and 16h30 at Die Bergkelder in Stellenbosch.

Monthly Wine Tasting Experiences

A unique tasting experience is offered to the public on the first Thursday of every month at the Bergkelder. These tastings are presented by expert winemakers or other related specialists, with different themes every month; including wine, brandy, whisky or fortified wines. The tastings begin at 17h30 for 18h00 and last about one and a half hours. This is followed by a light meal and guests have an opportunity to purchase from the Fine Wine Shop.

The cost is R150 per person.

Courier service:

We can arrange for any purchases from our Fine Wine and Spirits shop to be couriered home or anywhere in the world. The wines of your choice can be sent to any destination, for a wedding or birthday present, or any other occasion for someone special.

Conference/meetings:

The Bergkelder has stylish conference and meeting facilities located in our “unique mountain cellar”. The facilities cater for a range of functions, from an intimate 8-seater meeting to a 50-seater cinema-style presentation. The rooms can be arranged in a “U-shape” or as a school room setting for up to 30 guests. We also offer a unique 14-seater table in our Fleur du Cap room that can host special tastings, lunches and themed dinners.
